WHEELING, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Soccer team added to their win total earlier today, defeating Wheeling, 3-1, on the road. The Pioneers record now stands at (6-5-2, 3-5-2 MEC), giving them the most wins in a single season in school history.
1st Half
In the first half, Wheeling got things going early. scoring a goal at the six-minute mark thanks to Lily Hanna. Noelia Garcia would put the Pioneers on the board and tie the game up at the 17-minute mark. GSU didn't look back, scoring two more goals before the end of the half to push their lead to 3-1.
2nd Half
In the second half, the Pioneers looked to keep their lead on the Cardinals. The Cardinals gave their best efforts to come back by outshooting the Pioneers nine shots to five, but they couldn't manage to find the back of the net due to Lucia Lopez's five saves in the second half.

Wheeling
Lily Hanna was the only player for Wheeling to score a goal in today's game. Hanna also led the team with the most shots and shots on goal with six shots and five shots on goal. Sam Faulkner managed to pick up six saves for the Cardinals in the loss.
Glenville State
Noelia Garcia, Valentina Quiroz and Sophia Calkins all scored in today's win. Garcia led the Pioneers in shots with four and shots on goal with four. Lucia Lopez helped contribute to the Pioneers win with her nine saves.
