INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Soccer team lost a tough conference matchup on the road to West Virginia State tonight, 2-0. This was the Yellow Jackets seventh win in a row.
1st Half
In the first half, the Yellow Jackets got things going with a goal at the 28- minute mark, courtesy of Sandra Linares. The Yellow Jackets continued to outshoot the Pioneers in the first half by eight shots and managed to find the back of the net again before the end of the first half,d thanks to Karissa Vela.
2nd Half
In the second half, the Pioneers hoped to make a comeback, but the Yellow Jackets defense was too much. The Pioneers were outshot again in the second half by fourteen shots as the Yellow Jackets did everything they could do to keep their lead. Neither team managed to score a goal in the second half.

West Virginia State
Sandra Linares and Karissa Vela both scored a goal each for the Yellow Jackets while Naomi Njeri and Billie Jean Davies assisted on the goals. Leila Karam had the most shots and shots on goal for the Yellow Jackets with five shots and four shots on goal. Laura Galindo managed to get three saves for the Yellow Jackets.
Glenville State
Merel Smets and Aitana Viejo led the team in shots with two apiece. Merel Smets also led the team with the most shots on goal with two. Lucia Lopez picked up fifteen saves tonight for the Pioneers.
