INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Volleyball team fell three sets to none Tuesday night on the road against West Virginia State.
The first two sets were controlled by WVSU, taking both sets handily, 25-12 and 25-11. However, the Pioneers competed until the end and made the third set close and after having a 20-19 lead late in the third set, the Jackets were ultimately too much for the Pioneers, scoring the last six points and winning the set, 25-20.

The Jackets were led by Maureen Matthews (nine kills) and Hannah Steele (six kills) while Kierston Eggleton had 31 assists. WVSU got good production on the defensive end as well with Morgan Caba tallying 12 digs and Nicole Gartner Custodio with five total blocks.
Glenville State
The Pioneers were led offensively by
Rita Kelly, who tallied seven kills, followed by
Keleigh Chrisman with four and
Larissa Howe with four as well.
Bella Baragona paced the Pioneers in the assist category with 18.
Morgan Stephenson pitched in 11 digs for GSU.
