Volleyball Swept by Frostburg State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Volleyball team dropped a home contest, 3-0, against the Bobcats of Frostburg State on Friday night inside the Waco Center in Glenville.

The first set was back and forth as neither team could pull away from the other as the set was tied at 22-22 late, but FSU would go on a three-to-zero run to win the stanza, 25-22. The second set saw the Bobcats take an early advantage and the Pioneers couldn't mount a comeback, falling in set two by a score of 25-12. In the third set, the Pioneers jumped out to an early 8-6 lead and the set would stay closely contested throughout, however GSU would drop set three by a score of 25-17.

Dani Kunkle led the Bobcats in kills with nine while Maya Johnson had eight. Emery Kuebler recorded 17 assists and Phoebe Lingold pitched in with 13. Defensively, AJ Thompson and Paige Mock had four blocks each. Kunkle was active on the back line as well with eight digs while Amanda Knieper and Fiona Medina-Gonzalez had seven.

Glenville State
Keleigh Chrisman led the Pioneers in kills in the match with 10 while Rita Kelly had eight and Malerie Ross had six. Sadie Hill once again led the team in assists with 24. Defensively, Kelly also had three blocks and Greta Petofi had two. On the back line, Morgan Stephenson had 15 digs to lead the team and Hill had seven.

The Pioneers continue their homestand with a conference matchup against West Virginia State on Monda (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m.
