GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Basketball team lost on a Seton Hill buzzer beater earlier today, falling 73-72. The Pioneers record now stands at (3-4, 1-2 MEC).
In the first half, the Griffins would get things started with a two-point basket from Gabe Gillespie but the Pioneers answered back with a three the very next possession, courtesy of Samier Kinsler setting up how things would go for the rest of this game. The Pioneers managed to stay in the lead for the majority of the half, however the Griffins wouldn't let the game get out of hand with the Pioneers only leading by four points going into the half, 32-28
The Griffins started the half on a 5-0 run to take the lead just a minute into the second half. The back and forth play that we saw in the first half continueed until the Pioneers wemt on a run to push their lead to eight points with just two and a half minutes left in the half. The Griffins managed to erase the deficit to two points, handling the final possession of the game. Paul Gakmar poked the ball free two times to force Kedrick Curtis behind half court where he then had no choice but to make a last second heave, nailing the three-point shot and giving the Pioneers a heartbreaking loss, 73-72.

The Griffins were led by Gage Lattimore with 17 points, followed by Kedrick Curtis' 14 points and the game winning bucket. Curtis also led the team in rebounds with eight. Ryan Meis showed his point guard abilities by leading the team with four assists. On the defensive side of the ball, three different Griffins led the team in steals with two each and three different Griffins led the team in blocks with one apiece.

Freshman Ammar Maxwell had a career-high 16 points led the Pioneers in scoring with Samier Kinsler adding 15 points. Both Maxwell and center Prince Mosengo led the team in rebounds with nine boards apiece. Maxwell and Kinsler also both led the team in assists with three each. Maxwell didn't only get the job done on the offensive side of the ball but he also produced on the defensive side as well, racking up a team-high three steals. The Aussie native, Paul Gakmar, was a force on defense with two blocks in the loss.
