GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team dropped both games against West Virginia Wesleyan earlier today, falling in game one 6-4 and game two 10-2 in five innings.
Game One – GSU 4 | WVWC 6
The Pioneers got on the board first with a solo home run from Delaney Warnick in the 2nd inning. In the following inning, three-straight RBI singles from Kylee Goodman, Warnick and Monica Rodelo extended the GSU lead to 4-0. However, the Bobcats got right back into the contest with a grand slam in the top of the 4th, making it a 4-4 game.
WVWC then took their first lead of the game in the 6th with a sacrifice fly, adding onto the advantage with another run in the 7th. With two outs in the bottom of the final inning, GSU put two runners on base but a strikeout ended the game as the Bobcats took the 6-4 win.

Kylee Goodman, Delaney Warnick and Monica Rodelo all had two hits while Warnick drove two runs home. Meghan Stump was handed the loss after pitching out of the bullpen, surrendering two runs (both earned) on two hits and two walks.
Emma Jackson's grand slam was the difference for WVWC with two other Bobcats finishing with an RBI. Josi Fix pitched in relief, garnering the win while Kendall Stoffel recorded her first save of the year.
Game Two – GSU 2 | WVWC 10 (5 Inn.)
Two innings of no-run ball passed before Emily Nolan drove two runs home on a single to right in the 3rd, giving the Pioneers the lead. GSU held WVWC scoreless in the 4th as well, however the Bobcats were able to have their bats explode in the 5th. Wesleyan plated 10 runs on nine hits, setting themselves up for the run-rule win. The Pioneers weren't able to extend the game in the bottom half of the inning, ending the game after five innings in favor of the Bobcats.

Emily Nolan was 3-3 with 2 RBI to lead the Pioneer bats. Shelby McDaniels and Hannah Howe also recorded a hit. Caitlyn Kassay was handed the loss after 4.2 innings of work.
Eight Bobcats finished with a hit, led by Brooklyn Osburn's three. Four different Wesleyan hitters had 2 RBI in the win. Kendall Stoffel picked up her sixth win of the season, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks.
