GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Softball will open the 2024 MEC Tournament with the North's No. 3 seed, Notre Dame College, tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Botetourt Softball Complex in Troutville, Va.

THE OPPONENT
NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
The Falcons enter the tournament (33-22, 14-14 MEC) and have won four in a row, previously sweeping Wheeling and West Liberty to close the regular season.
The Falcons feature five batters over .300, led by Meadow Odum's .326 AVG, 4 HR, 20 RBI and .925 OPS. Katelyn DeWeese is first on the team in hits with 52 and stolen bases with 28 while swinging the bat at a .319 clip. Allison Weilnau (3.12 ERA, 13-9) and Grace Fisher (3.37 ERA, 16-10, 174 strikeouts) lead the pitching staff, throwing a combined 309.3 innings on the year.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers come in (25-18, 17-13 MEC), holding onto an eight-game winning streak. GSU finished out the year (16-3) in their last 19 games.
Kylee Goodman (.336 AVG, 44 hits, 2 HR, 14 RBI), Delaney Warnick (.328 AVG, 45 hits, 8 HR, 27 RBI) and Monica Rodelo (.309 AVG, 38 hits, 8 HR, 39 RBI) have been on a tear as of late, bringing average and power to the top of the Pioneer lineup. Emma McLean has raised her average to .295 while mashing five home runs and bringing in 12 runs as well.
Holly Brehm (1.51 ERA, 13-7, 179 strikeouts) heads the pitching staff for the Pioneers. Kylie Burdick (2.61 ERA, 6-1), Caitlyn Kassay (3.53 ERA, 5-2, five complete games) and Meghan Stump (2.07 ERA, three complete games) have been phenomenal all year in the circle for GSU.
