GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State Alumni and current assistant basketball coach for the Pioneers, Bill Lilly, was invited to West Virginia University this weekend to celebrate the 20
th anniversary of 2004-05 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight team. During this time, Lilly was Director of Basketball Operations for the Mountaineers. They had a private reception on Friday and a public recognition at the West Virginia vs Kansas football game on Saturday.
It was a journey for the 2004-05 WVU Men's Basketball team to get to the Elite Eight. In the 2002-03 season, the Mountaineers finished their season (8-20). The following 2003-04 season, they improved their record by six wins. Finally in 2004-05, they finished their season (24-11) and took a trip to the Elite Eight. This historic season came to an end when the Mountaineers met the 4
th ranked Louisville Cardinals in the elite eight of the NCAA Tournament.
