Pioneers Win Streak Snapped by Bobcats

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - The Glenville State Men's Basketball team lost on the road at West Virginia Wesleyan, 84-78, earlier today inside the Rockefeller Center. The Pioneers had their four-game win streak snapped in the defeat.

In the first half, the Bobcats would get things going with a three-point shot. The Pioneers answered back with an 11-0 run to go up 11-3. The Bobcats fought back as they would go on an 11-1 to gain back their lead. The Pioneers and the Bobcats traded buckets for the rest of the half with neither team able to gain a lead. The first half saw nine lead changes and eight ties as the Pioneers went into the half down by three, 38-35.

In the second half, the Bobcats came out swinging as their halftime lead of three would increase to 17 within the first three minutes of the half. Halfway through the second half, the Pioneers were down by 14 points and needed to change the pace of the game in their favor, throwing a full court press at the Bobcats to try and throw them of their game. The press and smart substitutions allowed the Pioneers to dwindle the lead down to single digits with just under a minute left in the game. Their last second effort fell short, falling 84-78.
