THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE

2024 Season
The Pioneers had an historic 2024 campaign, going (26-20, 17-13 MEC) and qualifying for the Mountain East Conference Tournament. The 26 wins was the most in a single-season since joining the MEC and their 2nd place finish in the MEC South Division was the highest in program history. GSU also reached a regional ranking as high as #7, the highest ranking in program history. The pitching staff was stellar all season, posting a program-low 2.31 Team ERA.

Head Coach
Sara Scoone is in her fifth season at the helm of the Pioneer Softball program. Scoone has rejuvenated the program the last two seasons, leading GSU to their first MEC Tournament appearance in nearly 10 years and coaching the program's first All-MEC First Team selection since 2014 in 2023. In 2024, Scoone and the Pioneers made history with 26 wins, 17 MEC victories, No. 2 MEC finish and #7 regional ranking.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
The Pioneers return eight of their nine starters in the lineup from last year's team as well as three of the four pitchers from the rotation. Addison Aguiniga, Shelby McDaniels, Emma McLean, Monica Rodelo, Makenna Negley, Hannah Howe, Delaney Warnick and Kylee Goodman are all back in the lineup while Kylie Burdick, Meghan Stump and Madison Thimmes return to the rotation.

Warnick (.322 AVG, 9 HR, 28 RBI), Goodman (.321 AVG, 2 HR, 14 RBI) and Monica Rodelo (.303 AVG, 8 HR, 41 RBI) all batted over .300 last year and brought plenty of pop to the lineup. McLean mashed five homers while Aguiniga, Negley and Howe all added two home runs each. Kylie Burdick headlines the returning pitchers as the junior went 6-2 with a 2.80 ERA, 27 strikeouts and three complete games in 55 innings pitched. Meghan Stump posted a 2.02 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 41.2 innings pitched during her freshman campaign, appearing in 11 games with three starts.
