GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes
Ashlyn Riley and
Caleb Brooks have been picked
GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.
Riley, a freshman out of Bridgeport, W.Va., led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 11 points and rebounding with seven boards in Wednesday's loss at No. 15 Carson-Newman. The Lincoln HS product also recorded a block and a steal.
Brooks, a transfer from Division 1 Northern Illinois, went (3-0) at this weekend's GSU Quad, including a victory over the seventh-ranked wrestler in the 141-pound class, Isham Peace from Lander, by major decision. Brooks also secured wins over Caleb Chaves from Gannon and Eran Marx from Grand Valley State. He helped secure two dual victories for the No. 2 Pioneers as GSU went (2-1) with wins over No. 8 Lander and No. 22 Gannon.
