Pioneers Complete Season Sweep of D&E with Road Win

ELKINS, W.Va. – Glenville State downed Davis & Elkins in a conference matchup Tuesday (Oct. 28) night three sets to zero as the Pioneers completed the season sweep of the Senators and improved to (11-14, 3-7 MEC) on the year.

Early in set one, the Pioneers had a seven-to-zero run led by Rita Kelly and Sadie Hill to take a commanding lead and another four-to-zero run later would put the set on ice, 25-16, GSU. The Pioneers controlled the set from the beginning, giving the Senators no momentum after pushing the lead to seven in the middle stages and back-to-back kills from Keleigh Chrisman and Mikayla Curry put the set away, 25-18, GSU. Glenville State would have to come from behind in the third set to complete the sweep after finding themselves down two after a four-zero Senator run. However, the Pioneers scored seven out of the final nine points, completing the sweep and winning set three, 25-21.
