FROSTBURG, Md. – Glenville State Volleyball defeated Frostburg State in four sets on Friday (Oct. 31) night in an important Mountain East Conference matchup.
The first set was a come-from-behind effort from the Pioneers as they scored four consecutive points to take the lead at 12-10 after a Deniz Selen Yazar kill and wouldn't give the lead back, winning set one, 25-20. In set two, Glenville State could not rally like the prior stanza, falling 25-16 to tie things up at one set each. Set three would see a four-to-nothing Pioneers run give them the advantage at 20-13 and FSU couldn't muster a comeback, giving the blue and white the win in set three, 25-19. In set four, the game was tied at 11 all, but a three-zero run from the Pioneers gave them all the lead they needed, winning the fourth and final set, 25-20, and the match, 3-1.
