WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The Glenville State Women's Soccer team continued its strong form Wednesday night, earning a commanding 4–1 road win over West Liberty. The Pioneers improve to (3–6–1, 3–4–1 MEC) and have now gone unbeaten in three of their last four matches.
1st Half
The Pioneers came out confident and aggressive, controlling possession and creating early pressure. In the 29th minute, Solares Solano opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season, finishing off a smooth passing sequence from Jaina Munoz and Martina Roig to make it 1–0.
West Liberty briefly leveled the match on a penalty kick converted by Frida Lundberg in the 35th minute, but Glenville State answered quickly. With just two minutes left in the half, Giselle Hamilton scored her first career goal in a Pioneer uniform off an assist from Brooklyn Watts, giving the Pioneers a 2–1 lead heading into the break.
2nd Half
Glenville State didn't let up after halftime. Defender Sofia Jalaksova joined the attack and buried a shot in the 60th minute to push the advantage to 3–1. Jalaksova later set up Veronica Foster-Toledano for the final goal in the 84th minute, sealing the 4–1 win.
The Pioneer defense stayed sharp throughout the night, keeping West Liberty's opportunities limited and clearing dangerous chances inside the box. The back line and goalkeeper unit combined for four saves, maintaining full control of the second half.
