Volleyball Secures Spot in MEC Tournament with Senior Night Victory Over Concord

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Volleyball clinched an MEC Tournament berth with their 3-1 win over Concord last night on Senior Night inside the Waco Center.

Glenville State took control of set one early on with kills from Rita Kelly and Mikayla Curry that pushed the lead to 8-4, and a three-zero run in the middle stages would give the home team all the advantage they would need, winning the first set, 25-20. In set two, the game would be tied at nine apiece, but CU took control with a five-zero run and would not give the lead back, tying the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 set two victory. The third set began with a Sadie Hill service ace, and GSU built the lead with kills from Cali Queen and Greta Petofi as Queen would finish off set two with another kill, making it 2-1 Pioneers in the match. In the fourth set, the blue and white would see themselves trailing at 12-9 early, however, a kill from Keleigh Chrisman squared the game away at 15, and GSU pulled away by scoring the final two points of the match, winning the fourth set, 25-22, and the match, 3-1.
