GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Kaiya Lian and Colby Whitehill have been named GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.
 
Lian, who was a key piece in the Pioneer volleyball team going (2-0) last week, totaled 18 kills, six digs, four service aces and three blocks in GSU's wins over Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State. Lian had her best game in Friday's 3-1 victory at Frostburg as the true freshman out of Covington, Va. had 12 kills, five digs, four service aces and one block.
 
Whitehill, a redshirt senior out of Brookville, Pa., went undefeated at this weekend's Glenville State Wrestling Pioneer Open inside the Waco Center. The 285-pound grappler scored a team-high 28.0 points for the Pioneers, who won the 14-team tournament, and pinned three of his opponents while recording a decision (2-0) and major (13-1) to win the 285-pound division. In his semifinal match, Whitehill defeated the nation's No. 9 wrestler, Wyatt Bailey, from Ashland.
