SALEM, W.Va. – Glenville State Men's Basketball delivered its most complete performance of the season on Wednesday (Dec. 17) night, overwhelming Salem,104–72, inside the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. The Pioneers led wire-to-wire, shot over 42% from three, and received a career-high performance from Corey Boulden off the bench to improve to (5–5) on the season. Glenville never trailed, built a commanding halftime advantage, and turned the second half into a showcase of depth, ball movement, and shot-making.
First Half – Pioneers Set the Tone Early
Glenville wasted no time asserting control, forcing turnovers on Salem's opening possessions and attacking the paint to jump out to an early lead. Prince Mosengo and Ammar Maxwell established a physical presence inside, while Jalen Knott sparked the offense with early perimeter scoring. Midway through the half, the Pioneers created separation behind strong ball movement and defensive pressure. Don Colon-Lewis and Knott knocked down timely threes, and Mosengo finished multiple possessions at the rim to stretch the margin into double figures.
Corey Boulden provided an immediate spark off the bench, drilling back-to-back threes to energize the lineup. Glenville closed the half on a decisive run and carried a 52–31 lead into the break, holding Salem under 30% shooting in the opening 20 minutes.
Second Half – Boulden Takes Over
The second half belonged to Corey Boulden.
Boulden put together an immaculate shooting performance, knocking down eight three-pointers and scoring from seemingly everywhere on the floor. Time and again, Glenville swung the ball into open space and Boulden made Salem pay, turning a comfortable lead into a runaway within the first few minutes of the half.
As Boulden continued to pour in triples, Glenville's lead ballooned past 30. Knott added transition baskets and free throws, while Redfern and Colon-Lewis kept the offense flowing and the tempo high. The Pioneers never let Salem gain momentum, answering every small run with another open look from deep. A highlight moment came late in the half when Trey Stump scored the first basket of his collegiate career, knocking down a three to cap another dominant Glenville possession and bring the Pioneer bench to its feet.
Glenville cruised through the final minutes, eclipsing the 100-point mark and sealing the 104–72 victory.
