Cross Country Makes History with Both Teams and Three Individuals Earning USTFCCCA All-Academic

2/7/2025 2:15:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Glenville State Cross Country program had both teams and three individuals earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic, a first in school history.

Both the men's and women's teams were named to the All-Academic Teams, as the squads had to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, etc.

Jenna Barnett and Natalie Barr landed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team on the women's side while Nick Pitchford was the lone Pioneer male. To be named an All-Academic runner, the athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional meet, etc.

Barr became the first GSU XC runner in program history to be named to the list in 2023. This year's three selections is the first time in program history that multiple individuals have been on the list.
