THE OPPONENTS
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2025 Season
The Bobcats have been up and down this season and will look to right the ship starting this weekend. After beginning the season at (4-16), they are off to a (2-2) start in the first round of MEC opponents, with wins over Fairmont State and Frostburg State. Longtime head coach Steve Warner enters the game in his 33rd season at the helm, picking up win 1,200 last weekend and will endeavor to steer things back in the right direction starting against the Lady Pioneers.

Quick Look at The Bobcats
Junior Andie Dizon has been a challenge for opposing pitchers, currently holding a MEC 2nd ranked batting average of .478 and a 3rd ranking 22 RBIs. Dizon is also the conference leader in total hits with 43. Sophomore Josi Fix has been a threat in the box as well with a .349 average while Senior Kendall Stoffel has helped drive the offense with a .291 average and nine RBIs, good for 2nd on the team. Stoffel has also had a solid campaign on the mound, currently 7th in the MEC in ERA and 11th in wins with three.

DAVIS & ELKINS
2025 Season
The Senators present another opponent looking to get the ball rolling in the right direction, currently sitting at (6-19) overall and (1-3) to start conference play. Just as in the case of the Bobcats, they will look to utilize this weekend to return to more familiar form, as seen last year, finishing with an overall record of (31-26) and making the MEC Championship. Elle Fracker will look to do just that in her 5th season in the captain's chair at Davis & Elkins, having established a track record of success, including an NCAA tournament berth in 2023.

Quick Look at The Senators
Junior Ashlyn Zapach has been the driver of their offensive attack, leading in both batting average and RBIs, sitting at .394 and 18, respectively. Senior Linzey Allard has brought power to the box for the Senators with her three home runs, placing her 6th in the MEC as well as 17 RBIs for second on the squad. Senior Lina Gutierezz rounds out the .300 average hitters, currently holding an average of .372 to go along with 12 RBIs and one home run. Redshirt Senior Saylor Kneeland has been the most successful arm for the Senators with a (4-1) record and 4.98 ERA.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
Glenville State Softball has enjoyed a very quality start to the 2025 season, with a current record of (13-8) and a (3-1) commencement to MEC action. They currently sit tied for first in the MEC South Division with the University of Charleston and sit in a three-way tie for the lead in conference wins. The run has included eight wins by more than five runs, including a victory over nationally ranked University of Indianapolis. This improvement has been a trademark of head coach Sara Scoone, who has done nothing but improve in each of her five seasons as head honcho for the Lady Pioneers.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
Sophomore Zailees Seda has been a keystone of the success of Glenville State in 2025, with her recent performances earning her MEC Co-Player of the Week recognition on Monday. Junior Kylie Burdick has been streaking herself and wrangled MEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on the same day. Though the individual honors have just started to roll in, the Lady Pioneers have been anything but a solo show in 2025. Nine Lady Pioneers have double-digit RBIs and six members of the squad are currently batting with an above .300 average, led by senior Makenna Negley and Sada who both sit above .400. Sophomore Delaney Warnick has performed at a level that places her among the top power hitters in the MEC, leading the conference in RBIs with 27 and ranking second in home runs with five.

They have been nothing short of lockdown on the mound, with Burdick, AndiJo Howard and Meghan Stump all ranking in the top ten of the MEC in ERA. The sophomore Stump has been on fire in 2025 with a 1.02 ERA to lead the conference entirely and ranking 14th in all of Division II softball as well as holding five wins to tie for 3rd in the MEC. Howard's introduction to college softball is not far behind the success of Stump with the freshman holding a 2.25 ERA for 3rd in the MEC and three wins. Burdick's success cannot be underrated, currently sitting at 3rd in the conference for strikeouts, including 13 from last weekend's efforts.
