THE OPPONENTS
FINDLAY
The Oilers present a tough challenge as the Lady Pioneers' first opponent, sitting at (7-1) on the 2025 campaign to date. With four hitters still at over .400 for the year and seven combined home runs, Findlay brings offensive firepower. They also have proven to be a tough defensive opponent, averaging just over four runs given up per game in their seven victories.
WINONA STATE
Things get no easier in game 2 on Friday with the Winona State Warriors entering the tournament at (13-2). The Pioneers' second opponent presents a challenge both offensively and defensively, having reached double digit runs in six games and allowed more than four runs in only one outing so far.
BEMIDJI STATE
The second day's slate opens with the Beavers, who are on a three-game win streak to place at (5-5) at the time of this writing. They are allowing an average of 4.4 runs per game but have struggled to find their footing on the offensive side, averaging 3.5 runs per game and have been held scoreless twice.
SLIPPERY ROCK
The back half of Friday's doubleheader positions the Lady Pioneers against The Rock, who are still relatively unknown this year, having only played four games to date due to postponements. They have split doubleheaders against Shippensburg and Shepherd, sitting at (2-2) to date.
UNIV. of INDIANAPOLIS
After losing 3 of their first 4, the Greyhounds found their footing fast to win 6 of their last 7. They will look to continue their success from 2024, winning 60 games and advancing to the NCAA DII Championship.
LAKE ERIE COLLEGE
The action on Monday rounds up with an afternoon contest against Lake Erie College. The Storm are still looking to find their groove in the 2025 season, still winless through 10 games.
SHEPHERD
The final day starts off with the Lady Pioneers locking horns with an old WVIAC foe in the Shepherd Rams. The second PSAC opponent of the tournament is also a relative unknown, sitting at (1-1) in 2025 after splitting a doubleheader versus Slippery Rock. The Rams went (23-26) in 2024, earning a (13-18) record in conference play.
WAYNE STATE
The busy five-day slate wraps up with a game against the Wayne State Warriors, currently at (3-6) to date. It has been an up and down year so far for the Warriors, who have lost three games by one run but are averaging nearly 11 runs in their victories.
THE PIONEERS
2025 Season
The Lady Pioneers currently sit at (5-4) on the year after their last action in the Sue Morris Sports Complex Classic, making it two weeks since their last game by the time of first pitch today.
Quick Look at The Pioneers
Zailees Seda has all but disproven the notion of the sophomore slump so far, with an average of .538 to go along with two dingers and 11 RBId to lead the Lady Pioneers offensive attack. Makenna Negley has started off her senior campaign with a bang as well, hitting .393 with 10 RBIs to date while junior Kylie Goodman has earned a .417 average with 9 RBIs on the young season. Sophomore Delaney Warnick will look to continue to bring the boom with four home runs and 15 RBIs in 2025. The Lady Pioneers have two pitchers with an under 2 ERA, with sophomore Meghan Stump and freshman AndiJo Howard holding values of 1.40 and 1.75, respectively. Junior Kylie Burdick leads the squad with 20 strikeouts on the season.
