SALEM, Va. - The Glenville State Softball team had their MEC Tournament run ended earlier today against Charleston, falling to the Golden Eagles, 3-0, in an elimination game. The (36-17. 22-8) Pioneers now await their fate with Monday's NCAA Selection Show.

Following a scoreless first inning, Charleston broke the 0–0 tie in the second inning on a pair of RBI hits to make it 2-0. MEC Pitcher of the Year Addison Mass dealt all day long, only allowing a baserunner via a walk in the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th innings, with the Pioneers putting a runner in scoring position in the 1st but no runs would be scored. UC added an insurance run on a sac fly in the top of the 7th, however, the Golden Eagles didn't budge in the bottom of the 7th, eliminating the Pioneers, 3-0.

Allison Rubal led Charleston with two hits while five other Golden Eagles also recorded a hit. Hannah Meyer, Ella Zucchero and Lindsey Phares all notched an RBI in the victory. Addison Mass tossed a no-hitter, walking five and striking out five as well.
Glenville State
Kylie Burdick took the loss after two innings of work, surrendering two runs (earned) on four hits and one strikeout. AndiJo Howard pitched in relief out of the bullpen, going five innings and allowing one run (unearned) on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts.
