Bridgeport, W. Va. — The Mountain East Conference has issued a correction to the 2024-25 Commissioner's Cup standings. Due to an error in the calculation of the total possible points category, Fairmont State and Glenville State each move up one spot to 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, shifting Frostburg State to 4th. The corrected calculation also flips West Virginia Wesleyan to 6th and Point Park to 7th.
The Commissioner's Cup standings are compiled using an "all-sports rating." This rating is determined by a formula that awards points to a school for its regular season finish equal to the number of teams per sport sponsored by the MEC, and then divided by the number of sports offered by the institution. The final rating is a percentage of points acquired against the number of points available
(average percentile finish in the standings of each sport sponsored by an institution). A bonus point is given for winning the conference tournament (in applicable sports).
Frostburg State won the women's lacrosse conference championship, and had the highest-scoring MEC men's and women's teams at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference/Mountain East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships. The Bobcats also finished atop the North Division women's soccer standings.
Fairmont State swept the MEC men's and women's basketball championships and won the Acrobatics & Tumbling title. The Falcons' softball team also finished first in the North Division.
