BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Men's Cross Country team has been picked tied for 6
th in the Mountain East Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced today.
Charleston was narrowly picked to take the reigns back over, earning 97 total points and seven first-place votes. The defending champions, Davis & Elkins, were closely behind with 94 points and four first-place votes. Concord (75 points), Frostburg State (69 points) and West Virginia Wesleyan (60 points) were also picked in front of the Pioneers, who tied with West Liberty with 58 points. Fairmont State (34 points), Point Park (30 points), Wheeling (20 points) and West Virginia State (10 points) rounded out the poll.
The Pioneer men had a successful 2024, finishing 6
th at the MEC Championship with
Patrick Reilly being crowned All-MEC Second Team. Reilly's 13
th-place finish was the highest of any Pioneer male since the formation of the MEC. In addition, GSU tied their highest placement ever in the region as they tied for 17
