GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Golf is picked to win their fourth-straight MEC Championship as the Pioneers were selected 1
st in the Mountain East Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced today.
The Pioneers received 54 points and five first-place votes while Charleston (51 points) is slated to finish 2
nd with two first-place votes. Fairmont State took the remaining first-place nod with 44 points as Davis & Elkins (34 points), West Liberty (29 points), Wheeling (26 points), Concord (23 points) and West Virginia Wesleyan (19 points) rounded out the poll.
Glenville State is under new direction in their quest to four-peat as
Caitlyn Sturm was announced to lead the Pioneers earlier this month. Sturm does bring back experience and has added a pair of signings in the state and an international talent in 2025-26.
