GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Kaiya Lian and Brandon Penn have been announced GoMart Pioneers of the Week, the GSU Athletic Department announced.

Penn, a redshirt senior out of Parkersburg, W.Va., had a career-high 15 tackles in the Pioneers 44-28 victory at Millersville on Saturday. Penn also recorded a 100-yard pick six, a blocked field goal and a 0.5 TFL to add onto his already impressive day.

Lian, a true freshman out of Covington, Va., logged 50 kills, eight blocks and 14 digs in five games last week. She helped the Pioneers to a (3-2) record with wins over WVU Tech, Kentucky Wesleyan and Roberts Wesleyan. Lian had high of 18 kills in the Pioneers 3-2 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. In total, she had two games of double-digit kills on the week with multiple contests of five digs.
