Pioneers Drop Conference Opener to Fairmont State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Volleyball team hosted Fairmont State in a Mountain East Conference matchup inside the Waco Center on Friday night, falling to the Falcons in straight sets.

After the break, again neither team managed to build much of a lead, as the game would be tied at 18 a piece late, however the Falcons forced a Glenville State timeout as they held the lead at 22-20 and would hold on to win set one, 25-22. Set two started in favor of the Falcons, as they held an 8-4 advantage early on and would build upon that lead and force a Pioneer timeout with the score at 13-6. Fairmont State eventually pulled away to claim the set, 25-18. Set three would be close early but FSU held a narrow lead throughout the middle stages and created more distance late, winning set three, 25-17, and the match, 3-0.
