LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Glenville State Cross Country teams crushed previous year's time averages and moved up team rankings today at the Lock Haven Invite in Pennsylvania.
HOW THE PIONEERS FINISHED
The Women
In the year prior at the same meet, the top five runners averaged a time of 23:46 and placed 15th, and this year they had an average of 23:29 while placing 11th. Natalie Barr finished 11th in the race, ahead of runners within the conference and region. Jenna Barnett placed 30th with a time of 22:45, which improved her second all-time record. Morgan Ruggles ran 24:27 and is now fifth all-time, along with Ella Austin who is now seventh all-time by running 24:36. Our eighth runner, Bethany Payne, PR'd with a time of 27:28. Raegen Sisk, who ran 27:28, gained a personal best as well.
The Men
The men also shaved off some time and jumped a few places compared to last year at the LHU Invite. Last year the top five runners averaged 27:03 and placed 17th in comparison to this year with an average time of 26:27 to place 12th as a team. Patrick Reilly (25:40, 38th) moved up to fifth on the all-time lists along with Nick Pitchford (25:53, 49th) who is now 6th all-time. The fourth runner for the men, Caden Davis, PR'd with a time of 26:31 and the fifth runner, Jackson Mallet, followed him by running a time of 26:50 to PR. The freshmen Landon Griffith (27:22, 135th), Luke Barr (27:27, 139th), and Lance Busse (27:54, 153rd) also stepped up to PR, closing out the men's race with a strong finish.

The Pioneers will return to the course on Oct. 4th, traveling to Louisville, Ky. for the Swags Louisville XC Classic.
