ELKINS, W.Va. – The Glenville State Women's Soccer team kept momentum rolling Sunday afternoon, battling Davis & Elkins to a 1-1 draw at Nuttall Field. After earning their first victory of the season earlier in the week, the Pioneers (1-5-1, 1-3-1 MEC) extended their unbeaten run to two matches, showing signs of a team ready to turn the corner.
1st Half
The Senators struck first in the 11th minute when Valeria Gabrie converted off a pass from Sophia Brown. However, Pioneers quickly answered back. In the 24th minute, Solares Solano buried her second goal of the year to bring Glenville level. From there, the GSU defense tightened, with Lucia Lopez making three saves to send the teams into halftime knotted at 1-1.
