Preview: Women's Basketball Prepares for Big Week with Frostburg State and Fairmont State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Basketball is preparing for a home meeting with Frostburg State on Wednesday (Jan. 28) and road matchup against rival and Mountain East-leading (tied) Fairmont State on Saturday (Jan. 31). The Lady Pioneers own victories over both opponents already this year.

THE OPPONENTS
FROSTBURG STATE
2025-26 Season
The Bobcats are (9-9) overall and (5-6) in league play, losing their last two contests against West Virginia Wesleyan and Fairmont State coming into the new week.

Quick Look at The Bobcats
They are led by Julie Spinelli, who's first on the team in scoring with just under 17 points a game and is rebounding the ball at a 6.9 per game clip. Jenna Muha averages 14 points and leads the team in rebounding with 8.4 RPG. Ayla Hileman adds more offensive balance and is the final double-digit scorer for Frostburg at 11.3 points per game.

FAIRMONT STATE
2025-26 Season
Having won their last seven contests, the Falcons are (15-3) on the year, undefeated at home and (9-2) in MEC play.

FSU has a well-balanced attack with five players averaging nine or more points per game, but Gabby Reep is the leading scorer at 13.3 and 5.9 rebounds per game. Haylen Cook has started ten games and averages double figures with 11.3 and just under five rebounds. Alanna Tate averages 9.9 points, Leila Jones adds 9.1 PPG and Ryan Davis is also just under double digits at 9.0 PPG.

2025-26 Season
Coming off an undefeated week with wins over West Virginia State and Concord, head coach Emily Stoller's team is looking for another big week to bolster themselves in the Mountain East Conference standings. The Lady Pioneers are (14-3) overall and (9-2) in MEC play with a (5-1) mark inside the Waco Center and (7-2) record on the road this season and are tied for first in the league in late January with only ten games remaining in the regular season.

The Lady Pioneers feature a balanced attack with seven players averaging six or more points per game. They are led by Carine Pinkney, who averages 14.4 points per game and shoots over 50% from the field and leads the team in steals. Nwando Okigbo averages just under 12 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 8.4 while Khalia Bryant scores 9.2 points per game, averages over six rebounds and is also shooting 52% from the floor.
