GLENVILLE, W.Va. - With conference positioning hanging in the balance, the Glenville State Men's Basketball team delivered one of its most disciplined and dominant performances of the season Wednesday (Jan. 31) night, pulling away from Frostburg State for a convincing 92–67 Mountain East Conference win inside the Waco Center. The victory moves the Pioneers to (7–5) in league play, jumping into fifth place, while Frostburg State drops to (6–6), sliding to seventh as the MEC race tightens. Just as impressive as the offensive output was Glenville's work on the defensive end, as the Pioneers held the nation's fourth-leading scoring team to just 67 points, well below Frostburg State's season average.
1st Half
Frostburg State struck first, but Glenville wasted little time responding. Jalen Knott buried an early three to spark the offense, and the Pioneers quickly settled into their rhythm on both ends of the floor. Defensively, Glenville set the tone early with active hands and strong interior resistance, forcing tough looks and disrupting Frostburg's flow.
As the half unfolded, Glenville's depth began to separate the game. Ammar Maxwell attacked downhill for tough finishes, while Prince Mosengo and Don Colon-Lewis controlled the paint and cleaned up second-chance opportunities. The turning point came off the bench, where Callum Crossman provided an immediate jolt of energy—running the floor, finishing through contact, and battling on the glass. Elijah Redfern set the tone with strong finishes at the rim and calm control of the offense, while Don Colon-Lewis knocked down a momentum-shifting three to keep Frostburg at bay.
Callum Crossman continued to be the difference-maker off the bench, posting a season-high scoring performance and finishing just shy of a double-double. His relentless effort around the rim, second-chance points, and defensive presence fueled a decisive run that pushed Glenville's advantage past 20.
Ammar Maxwell followed with a powerful stretch of play, converting tip-ins and throwing down a dunk that ignited the Waco Center. Corey Boulden added timely perimeter shots, and Jalen Knott orchestrated the offense with poise as the Pioneers maintained full control through the final ten minutes. By the closing stretch, Glenville's depth, defensive discipline, and physicality had completely worn Frostburg down, allowing the Pioneers to cruise to a convincing 92–67 conference victory.
