GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer Basketball team outscored West Liberty by 14 in the final quarter to complete the come-from-behind victory at home against the Hilltoppers on Wednesday (Feb. 18) night 102-95. The Lady Pioneers remain in first place of the Mountain East Conference at (20-4) overall and (14-3) in league play.
1st Half
Glenville State raced out to an early lead over the visitors after a Khalia Bryant three-pointer, and a Nylah Davis layup pushed the lead to 14 halfway through quarter one. However, West Liberty nailed a three to cut the lead to eight after ten minutes. In the second, WLU retook the lead after scoring 31 points in the quarter. Scores from Jayda Allie, Carine Pinkney, and Wonder Nkoyock made it a 51-48 Hilltopper lead at halftime.
2nd Half
In the third quarter, the Lady Pioneers scored the first four points to put themselves back in front, however, WLU responded with a barrage of threes. Stevi Yancy, Keanti Thompson, Payton James, and Nwando Okigbo all scored in the third to make the score 81-74 in favor of the road team after 30 minutes of play. The final ten minutes belonged to the blue and white. Glenville State held West Liberty to just 14 points and was able to double their points to secure a comeback victory in front of the home crowd as Allie and Yancy honed in big shots at key moments.

West Liberty
Reagen Vinskovich recorded 38 points to lead all scorers, while also grabbing 13 rebounds to lead the Hilltoppers. Olivia Baker scored 20 points, and Anna Lucarelli had 16 points and six rebounds while Katie Lucarelli chipped in with six.
Glenville State
Carine Pinkney had 24 points to lead GSU, while also securing five rebounds, and recording three assists. Wonder Nkoyock scored 22 points, Stevi Yancy scored 14 points and led the team in rebounds with nine while also leading in assists with six. Nwando Okigbo had 11 points and seven rebounds, Payton James recorded nine, Jayda Allie had eight, and Khalia Bryant had five.

Glenville State will be on the road at Wheeling on Saturday (Feb. 21) for a rematch with the Cardinals. Tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
