GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State athletes Janae Scott and Emilia Underwood have been named Female Co-Pioneers of the Week while Casey Mahoney is the Male Pioneer of the Week presented by GoMart.
 
Scott, who hails from Doylestown, Pa., set a meet record, a school record and won the Shot Put title at the MEC Championships this weekend. Scott had a throw of 14.86m, which also now ranks her 15^th nationally. The former University of Bridgeport transfer was also 6^th in the Weight Throw with a 15.50m heave.

Underwood, a senior from Bridgeport, W.Va., was a vital piece in the Pioneers tri-meet victory over Kutztown and West Virginia State on Saturday (Feb. 21). Underwood helped GSU to three scores of 9.55 or better in the pyramid, where she serves as the tosser and catcher in all three heats. Heat one's score of 9.75 was also a season-high for the Acrobatics & Tumbling squad.

Mahoney, a graduate student out of Parkersburg, W.Va., placed second in the Shot Put to earn All-Conference in the event. He was the highest placing Pioneer male as his 14.89m throw secured silver at the MEC Championships.
