GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Former Glenville State Men's Basketball player Paul Gakmar has signed a professional contract in Melbourne, Austrialia with Geelong United in the NBL1 League.
 
Gakmar, who played one season with the Pioneers after transferring from New Hampshire, appeared in 28 games with eight starts in 2024-25. The Perth, Australia product averaged 4.6 PPG and 2.4 RPG in 14.1 MPG with a FG% of 55 percent. He had a season-high 14 points against Penn State Fayette while reaching double figures in four other contests.
 
The NBL1 League is one league down from Australia's premier professional basketball league, the NBL. Geelong United's NBL1 team plays in the NBL1 South and competes around Victoria and Tasmania, Australia, which attracts over 1,000 fans each week.
 
Gakmar is expected to start pre-season training and join the squad in the coming weeks.
