The Hilltoppers enter Saturday (10-21) overall and (4-8) in the MEC, losing both games to Frostburg State on Friday (Apr. 3) before splitting with Fairmont State on Saturday (Apr. 4). West Liberty had lost seven in a row before defeating the Falcons in their final game of the weekend.

Sara Simon brings the most pop to the Hilltopper lineup, as she's hitting .309 with an .833 OPS, team-leading three home runs and 17 RBIs. Paytyn Tucker is first on the team in AVG by a landslide at .361 while adding 11 RBIs, five doubles and a triple to her season totals. As a team, WLU hasn't hit the longball at an alarming rate, currently sitting at just seven home runs thus far.

Rylee Mangold (3.22) and Kadence Pettit (3.28) are both supplying strong ERAs for the Hilltoppers, with Mangold being (3-3) with two complete games and Pettit holding a (5-6) record and four complete games. Annaliese Davis has also started for WLU in 2026, making nine starts with a 4.38 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 46.1 innings of work.

WHEELING
2026 Season
The Cardinals are on a slide at this point of the season, entering the weekend (7-27) overall and (2-10) in league play with a six-game losing streak. Wheeling last won on March 29 when they secured a split with West Virginia State on the road.

Quick Look at The Cardinals
Mackenzie Burns is leading the Cardinals with a .391 AVG, two home runs, 14 RBIs and eight doubles on the year. Like West Liberty, Wheeling hasn't used the longball much with just six home runs as a team as four other Cardinals have notched a home run. Maria Clark, who is hitting just .250, is tied for the team lead in RBIs with 14. Clark pitches for Wheeling as well, holding a 4.17 ERA, (3-4) record and three complete games in six starts.
