THE OPPONENTS
DAVIS & ELKINS
2026 Season
Davis & Elkins enters the weekend still searching for consistency, holding a record well below .500 at (4-33, 2-16 MEC) while continuing to battle through a challenging Mountain East Conference schedule. The Senators have struggled to put together complete performances, particularly on the mound, which has played a major role in their results. While they have shown flashes offensively, limiting runs and closing out games has remained an issue throughout the season.

Quick Look at The Senators
Offensively, the Senators are led by Zach Calef-Boring (.352) and Kenny Capria (.324, .470 OBP), two hitters who consistently get on base and help set the tone at the top of the lineup. Grant Mealey (4 HR) and Carsan Strolla (3 HR, 9 SB) provide some power and versatility, but overall Davis & Elkins relies more on contact and situational hitting rather than power, totaling just 13 home runs on the season.

On the mound, Davis & Elkins has had a difficult year, posting a team ERA of 10.82 while allowing opponents to hit .334. Starters such as Diego Reyes (6.85 ERA) and Cooper Blackburn (6.55 ERA) have logged innings but have been prone to giving up runs, and the staff has struggled with command and consistency throughout.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
Glenville State enters the weekend at (18-18) overall and (7-11) in MEC play, continuing to compete in a tightly contested conference schedule. The Pioneers have been strong at home (13-7) and are coming off a series split at West Virginia State, finishing the weekend with a win to build momentum.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
The Pioneers bring a balanced offensive attack, hitting .247 as a team with 22 home runs. Ashton Crace (.431, 1.149 OPS) continues to lead the way as one of the most dangerous hitters in the lineup, while Jacob Meadows (.374) provides consistency at the top. Colby Guy (7 HR, .526 SLG) anchors the middle of the order with power, and Jetsel Cajigas-Martinez (13 doubles, 14-15 SB) adds a dynamic mix of speed and extra-base production. Glenville State has shown the ability to score in multiple ways and apply pressure throughout the lineup.

The Pioneers hold a clear advantage on the mound, posting a team ERA of 5.56. Zach Dellerman (2.22 ERA, 6-1) has led the staff, while Grant Landis (3.42 ERA) has provided consistency in the rotation. William Chu (2.67 ERA) and Jacob Gorra (20 strikeouts) add depth, and the bullpen has been effective when limiting walks.
