Warnick Named MVP, Four More Pioneers Named to MEC All-Tournament Team

SALEM, Va. – At the conclusion of the 2026 Mountain East Conference Softball Tournament, five Pioneers were named to the MEC All-Tournament Team with Delaney Warnick being award the four-day spectacle's Most Valuable Player. Lillian Burns, Maci Boggess, Meghan Stump and Emily Nolan joined Warnick on the All-Tournament Team.
 
Warnick, who had one of the best individual tournament performances in Mountain East Conference history, went 12-for-22 (.545) with a whopping six home runs, 18 RBIs and had an SLG% over 1.000 and an OPS over 1.600. In her seven games played, she knocked a ball out of the park in six of them, including a go-ahead HR in the top of the 7th in game one of Championship Saturday versus Charleston. Warnick finished with two or more RBIs in five contests and three or more in three games, including six runs batted in against Fairmont State in an elimination game.
 
Burns, a Bellarmine transfer, went 7-for-16 (.438) with two doubles and two RBIs. The junior hit in front of the red-hot Delaney Warnick, laying down four sacrifice bunts to put a runner in scoring position. Burns also walked five times and struck out just twice.
 
Boggess, who finished the regular season as one of the top pitchers in the league, made four appearances in the MEC Tournament and went (2-0) in 16.1 innings pitched. The Youngstown State transfer pitched six innings against Concord and shutout Fairmont State in five innings with five strikeouts and just five hits allowed.
 
Stump entered the MEC Tournament with an ERA just over 2.00 and left Salem, Virginia with an ERA of 1.59 after pitching 13.2 innings of no earned runs allowed. She appeared in both championship games for a total of 5.2 innings with only one hit allowed. She went the distance against Frostburg State, striking out five with two unearned runs allowed.
 
Nolan, the starting backstop for the Pioneers, finished this year's tournament 10-for-21 (.476) with one home run, one double and four RBIs. The junior from McDonald, Pa. hit behind Warnick and walked four times while not striking out once. Nolan had two hits in three contests, including the deciding championship game.
