The Lions come into the World Series at (53-8), which is the most wins in school history and topped their previous school record of 52 in 2001. This season, Missouri Southern State captured their sixth Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) regular season title and MIAA Tournament championship, third NCAA DII Central Region 1 title and first-ever NCAA DII Central Super Regional championship.

Quick Look at The Lions
Offensively, NFCA Third Team All-American Bailey Dillon headlines the Lions. The All-MIAA First Team selection is batting .422 with 87 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 28 RBIs and an astounding 48 stolen bases. Taylor Nuckolls brings plenty of speed to the lineup as well, as she's swiped 29 bags with a .369 AVG, 79 hits, 15 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 41 RBIs. The power comes from Katie Gray, who has hit 16 home runs and drove in 55 with 14 doubles and a batting average of .357. Gray's not the only Lion bringing the big stick, as Carson Tinkler and Emily Perry have both hit seven homers and drove in over 35 in 2026.

The pitching staff at Missouri Southern State is one of the top staffs in the country, as back-to-back MIAA Pitcher of the Year and 2026 NFCA Second Team All-American Kiki Pickens leads the way. Pickens enters today with a record of (26-3) with an ERA of 1.73, 14 complete games, three shutouts and 191 strikeouts in 182.1 innings pitched. Additionally, she's holding batters to a .189 clip and has given up just four homers all season long. She's backed up by MIAA Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Region member Emily Davis. Davis has pitched a bulk of the season with Pickens, as the true freshman is (19-5) with a 2.06 ERA, 11 complete games, four shutouts and 158 strikeouts in 156.1 IP.
