BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Glenville State Softball program has claimed their second consecutive Mountain East Conference South Division championship and the No. 2 seed in this week's MEC Tournament, the league announced. The Pioneers shared this year's title with the University of Charleston.
Glenville State finished the regular season (39-13) overall and (24-6) in league play, two games better than last year's historic (22-8) conference record that won them the division outright. GSU won 18 of their last 20 games in 2026, including eight in a row to complete the campaign. The blue and white are currently ranked 4
th in the Atlantic Regional rankings prior to next Monday's (May 10) NCAA selection show.
Glenville State will take on West Liberty in the opening round of the MEC Tournament on Wednesday (May 6) at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. with first pitch currently slated for 5 p.m. The Hilltoppers earned the No. 3 seed out of the north after finishing (22-29, 14-14 MEC) on the year.
