Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Track & Field teams had their first indoor meet of the 2017 season on Friday, January 13 in the Marietta Open.

For the women's team GSC took 1^st through 3^rd in the 55 meter dash as Heaven Maeshack finished 1^st with a time of 7.58 with Eshara Walton behind her with a time of 7.78 and Macey Nuzum in 3^rd with a time of 7.94.

Audra Thomas, in her first collegiate meet, took overall 2^nd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.49 while in the 400 meter dash Heaven Maeshack placed 1^st with a 1:05.91.

Glenville State saw Kyana Jones take 1^st in the 55 meter hurdles with a run of 9.15 and Victoria Lewis placed 2^nd with a time of 9.41.

The Lady Pioneers took 1^st in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:30.51, the members of the relay team are: Eshara Walton, Audra Thomas, Victoria Lewis, and Macey Nuzum.

GSC also had a great showing in the long jump as they took 1^st through 5^th with Victoria Lewis leading the way with a jump of 4.96m. Kyana Jones finished 2^nd with a jump of 4.89m, Eshara Walton placed 3^rd with a jump of 4.87m, Heaven Maeshack took 4^th with a jump of 4.82m, and Macey Nuzum placed 5^th with a jump of 4.55m.

And in the shot put Megan Wilfong took 1^st place with a throw of 10.76m and Gabrielle Dye placed 2^nd with a throw of 9.25m.

On the men's side in the 55 meter dash Gavin Lewis took 2^nd place with a run of 6.57 and Dante Absher finished 3^rd with a time of 6.81.

In the 200 meter dash senior Donell Lockett, started where he finished last year, as he took 2^nd place with a time of 23.94.  

Lockett also took 1^st place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.46 while Gavin Lewis finished 2^nd, Daman Robinson took 3^rd, and Logan MicKinney placed 4^th.

In the 55 meter hurdles Dustin Martin tied for 2^nd with a time of 7.99.

In the 4x400 meter relay the Pioneers took 1^st with a time of 3:32.77 the members of the relay team are: Daman Robinson, Dustin Martin, Gavin Lewis, and Donell Lockett.

Brandon Johnson tied for 1^st in the pole vault with a vault of 3.95m while Mikey Null tied him also with a vault of 3.95m.

Daman Robinson placed 1^st in the long jump with a jump of 6.64m and in the shot put Eric Ansley Jr. placed 3^rd with a throw of 12.55m.

The Track & Field teams will return to action on Friday, February 3^rd when they travel to Youngstown State.
