Kent, Ohio – In their last indoor meet of the 2019 season the GSC Track & Field team had a great showing on Saturday in the Kent State Tune Up meet.
Heaven Maeshack had a nice meet. She took 11
th in the 60 meter race with a time of 7.95. Maeshack later finished 15
th with a time of 26.14 in the 200 meter race.
In the long jump Maeshack placed 7
th with a jump of 5.34 meter while fellow Pioneer
Victoria Lewis finished 21
st overall.
Alyssa Woods took 19
th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:34.34.
GSC had a pair of runners place top 20 in the 5000 meter race.
Hannah Dennis took 19
th with a time of 20:37.51 while
Jahnvi Duncan finished 20
th with a time of 20:45.61.
Victoria Lewis finished 15
th in the 60 meter hurdles with a run time of 9.46 while
Elizabeth Messer took 20
th and
Kyana Jones placed 26
th overall.
Mim Stonecipher placed 6
th overall in the pole vault with a vault of 3.18 meters.
Megan Wilfong finished 16
th in both the shot put and weight throw.
For the men's team,
Javon Butler took overall 16th in the 60 meter race with a time of 7.14.
Adam Cutlip placed 23
rd in the 60 meter race and also finished 23
rd in the 200 meter race.
In the 5000 meter race Alex Kirk finished with a run time of 16:38.53 as he placed 21
st in the event.
Shawn Arthur had two top eight finishes. He placed 2
nd in the high jump with a jump of 1.94 meters. Shawn then took 6
th overall in the long jump with a jump of 6.88 meters.
Javon Butler finished 7
th right behind Arthur in the long jump as he finished with a jump of 6.68 meters.
Ryan Gregory took 10
th in the pole vault with a vault of 4.46 meters.
Glenville State will now begin to prepare for their first outdoor meet on Saturday, March 2
nd as they travel to Charleston, West Virginia to run in the UC Golden Eagle Invitational.
