Lady Pioneers Looking for Comeback to Reset the Week

 Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers of Glenville State are set to face off against Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan in search for a comeback after Sunday's loss.
 
Glenville State vs. Davis & Elkins – Wednesday January 13, 5:30pm (Waco Center)
Glenville State @ West Virginia Wesleyan – Saturday January 16, 2:00pm (Buckhannon, W.Va.)
 
At this time a no spectator policy will be followed at each of the 12 Mountain East Conference institutions. The league's Board of Directors will evaluate the no spectator policy no earlier than January 19, 2021.
 
Pioneer, Senators and Bobcat Files
 
Glenville State fell to University of Charleston at home 86-91 to put the Lady Pioneers down 1-1 on the season.  The Blue and White on the other hand continues to display the Glenville State name on the NCAA D2 leaderboard as they sit first in Scoring Offense, Rebounds Per Game and Offensive Rebounds Per Game averaging 106 points, 55 and 22 rebounds, respectively.
 
The Senators of Davis & Elkins are 0-1 after falling to Frostburg State 72-73 in game one of the season. Set to play Fairmont State this past Sunday, the game was postponed as D&E will face GSC tomorrow after a 6-day window. In their last meeting, the Blue and White defeated the Senators 118-88.
 
Then the Lady Pioneers will hit the road to Buckhannon to compete against the Bobcats at the end of the week. Currently sitting at 0-1 with a recent loss to Frostburg State 66-63, their first game of the season was also postposed against Fairmont State. Prior to the GSC and WVWC tipoff, the Bobcats will travel to Concord University, Wednesday.
 
Pioneer Highlights
 
On the leaderboard, third within NCAA D2 and first in the conference, Zakiyah Winfield averages 5.5 Offensive Rebounds per Game.
 
Re'Shawna averages 4.5 Steals Per Game to sit fifth in the division and third in the conference along with 6 Assists Per Game to lead ninth and first within NCAA D2 and MEC.
 
Taychaun Hubbard this season shoots 64.3 from the floor as she ranks 10th in the nation in Field Goal Percentage and second within the conference.
 
Coming Up
 
The Blue and White will return home to tipoff against Wheeling University then hit the road against to face West Liberty in week 3 of MEC Basketball.
