Glenville, W.Va. –The Pioneers Wrestling program is set to hit the road and begin their inaugural season, Saturday January 9 at 12:00pm in Phillippi, W.Va.
GSC will face off against new conference members Alderson Broaddus and West Liberty, under first year Head Coach,
Dylan Cottrell.

Cole Houser, junior transfer from Urbana University wrestling at 157lbs was ranked No. 15 by The Open Mat NCAA DII Preseason National Rankings and FloWrestling.
Alec Fulwider and
Kevin Meloni, also transfers from Urbana and Buffalo University are looking to contribute a significant impact on the mat for the Pioneers, each wrestling in the 141lbs and 125lbs division, respectively.

Jesse Kargol (149lbs),
Jacob Puckett (157lbs),
Benjamin Criuckshanks (165lbs),
Luke Martin (174lbs),
Christian Ramsey (184lbs), and
Gavin Shamblin (Heavyweight).
Battler Files
Alderson Broaddus University left the G-MAC Conference 5-8 on the year, appearing in the NCAA Division 2 Super Regionals Tournament in the 2019-20 season. Two returning Battlers placed fifth;
Noah Hodges and
Gino Sita in the 125 and 184 pound class.
The Battlers also had eight grapplers in eight weight classes at the Super Regional Tournament.
Hilltopper Files
West Liberty, nationally ranked sixth in the nation completed the season 9-8 overall and 3-1 in MEC conference action. The Hilltoppers also qualified for the NCAA Division 2 Super Regional Tournament where two wrestlers qualified for nationals including returner; Cole Laya prior to the cancelation of all NCAA sports. The Black and Gold tallied six placers within the tournament.
