Glenville, W.Va. – GSC Volleyball is set to travel to West Virginia State, February 2 to kick off the 2020-21 COVID-19 season against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00pm.
The Blue and White will then host West Virginia Wesleyan College for their Home Debut Friday February 5 at 7:00pm.

Coming into the new season, Glenville State was picked to finish sixth in the MEC Preseason South Division poll behind West Virginia Wesleyan College.
A year ago, the Pioneers finished the season overall 5-24 while going 2-14 in MEC action. The Pioneers are now lead by first year head
Madison Gargus who is very excited this season and explains the team dynamic has made a 180 turn in the best ways.
West Virginia State was picked to win the South Division with 66 points and 11 first-place votes. The Yellow Jackets have three all-conference players back from their 2019 squad with Jenna Dufresne (first team), Gabrielle Thompson (second team) and Gabrielle Bullock (second team).
A season ago, the Yellow Jackets finished 21-14 with a 10-4 conference record and fell to Urbana University in the Semifinals of the Mountain East Conference Tournament.
Wesleyan picked fifth in the South Division finished 5-23 overall and 2-13 within the MEC with a 3-1 set loss against the Blue and White. The Bobcats will open their season against University of Charleston prior to meeting with Glenville State.
Pioneer Highlights
The Pioneers return 12 members from their 2019 team including
Karlei Shaver and
Skylar Mace.
Shaver earned a spot on the MEC All-Freshman team finishing with 309 total kills and 228 digs starting 24 total matches.
Mace also earning an MEC Honorable Mention started in 29 games tallied 338 kills leading the Blue and White with 347.5 points scored.
Sophomore transfer,
Taylor Goett coming from Alderson Broaddus University is looking to make an impact on the court.
