Lenise Stallings enters her fourth season as Head Coach of the Hawks. Following last year's success, Stallings secured her second-consecutive 18-win season. She spent a season at Wiley College (NAIA) in Texas as HC of the Wildcats, leading them to their first winning season in three years. Before Wiley, Stallings was an assistant at Tennessee State for two seasons. She started her career at Mississippi Valley State.

Chowan returns their third-leading scorer from 2022-23 in Imani Hickman at 7.7 PPG. Both of the Hawks leading scorers from last season graduated, leaving Hickman as the highest scorer returning. Hickman's 6.7 RPG is the most of any returner as well.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE
The 16th ranked Yellow Jackets enter (1-1) following a split at the 'Conference Challenge' on the campus of California (Pa.), falling to the Vulcans but defeating Kutztown on Saturday. WVSU will face off with Carlow in Institute prior to meeting with the Lady Pioneers on Saturday.

Charles Marshall is in his eighth season as Head Coach of the Yellow Jackets. Prior to WVSU, Marshall spent three years as the HC at Glenville State. In his first year at GSU, Marshall led the Lady Pioneers to a 29-4 overall record, MEC regular season and tournament championships, and a #1 seed in the Atlantic Region tournament. Marshall was also an assistant at GSU for two seasons before being elevated.

Two Yellow Jackets (Shelby Harmeyer and Hannah Shriver) are averaging 13 PPG each while Anysa Jordan has added 10 PPG. 13 different WVSU players have found the scoring column so far this year. Anysa Jordan leads the rebounding category with 7.5 and Shriver averages the most assists at 4.5 per game.
