Breanna Campbell was again sizzling for GSU, scoring a team-high 25 points against the Senators.
It was a game effort on the part of the Senators, who battled back from an early deficit. The Pioneers came out strong, sprinting to an early 13-2 advantage, and led 24-10 at the first quarter break. D&E answered with a 10-0 run to start the second quarter drawing the margin to 24-20, but the Pioneers battled through some shooting woes in the stanza to take a 38-28 lead into halftime.
Glenville settled the issue early in the third quarter, racing out with a 24-5 surge in the first six minutes, and never looked back.
Mickayla Perdue drilled a pair of threes in this stretch, and Tore Alford a bomb of her own. By the end of the quarter, the Lady Pioneers and tallied 35 points in the frame and pushed the lead to a comfortable 73-42. They cruised home in the fourth quarter with the big advantage, closing the contest with the 28-point victory.
Campbell's 25 points was complemented by 17 from Perdue, 11 from Alford, and 10 points from
Kamiyah Lyons.
Aline Fevrier recorded a team-high eight rebounds, with Campbell delivering a team-high four assists. Lyons led the Lady Pioneers with four steals, as the Glenville defense forced 29 Senator turnovers.
Ellie Wilkerson led D&E with 26 points, followed by former Lady Pioneer
Taylor Smith who scored 17.
Glenville connected on 13 total three-pointers, hitting 33.3% (13-of-39). They also won the team rebounding battles, 43-38.
Glenville improves to 23-2 overall and 17-2 in the Mountain East. Davis & Elkins falls to 5-18 overall and 5-14 in the league.
The Lady Pioneers are back on the road this Saturday, traveling to Buckhannon to face West Virginia Wesleyan. Tip-off is set for 2:00 in the Rockefeller Center.
