ELKINS, W.Va. - Glenville State Softball fell on the road this afternoon to the Senators of Davis and Elkins College. The Lady Pioneers still would make history during today's doubleheader. GSU will be heading to the Mountain East Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.  Glenville in both contests could not get runs across the plate.

In the bottom of the second Davis and Elkins had runners on first and second with one out. Kylee Goodman got the second out of the inning with a diving play to the bag. Glenville got out of the frame with a flyout to right field.

The Senators took a slight lead in the following inning. Davis and Elkins would have runners on first and third with two outs. Glenville attempted to catch the runner at first stealing and got her in a rundown. While the rundown was happening a run crossed the plate making it 1-0.

GSU in the top of the fifth produced a strong chance to tie up the contest. After the Senators got a quick out, Kaelyn Stenger and Addison Aguiniga produced back-to-back singles. Davis and Elkins would get out of the inning with consecutive strikeouts. At the top of the sixth frame, the Lady Pioneers tied it up with Shelby Mcdaniels' double.

Entering the bottom of the seventh the game remained tied at 1-1. During the Senators' first at-bat of the frame, they walked it off with a solo home run to right field. While Holly Brehm was accredited with the loss she only had three walks.

Game Two Glenville 3 Davis and Elkins 8

The Lady Pioneers found themselves trailing early in game two. Davis and Elkins in the first two innings produced five runs. Until a three-run homer shifted the momentum in favor of the Senators GSU was only trailing by two runs. At the top of the third Glenville started to dig into D&E's advantage. With only one out the Lady Pioneers had runners on second and third. Ashton Palmer's sacrifice bunt drove in the first run for GSU.

Throughout the next three innings, Davis and Elkins built upon their early advantage. After it would be 6-1 from a double the Lady Pioneers scored once again. This time Emma McLean was able to drive in a run with a single. The Senators regain their six-run lead taking advantage of a couple of errors by GSU.

During the final inning, Glenville started to swing the momentum in their favor. Early in the frame Kylee Goodman and Ashton Plamer got on base with a single.
