GLENVILLE, W.Va. - For the first time in over 30 years, the Glenville State Cross Country programs are traveling for a meet at Marshall University. The meet is set for Huntington's YMCA Kennedy Center, with the men's race firing at 5:30. The women's race follows at 6:15. The women's race is a five-kilometer event, while the men's layout is an eight kilometers.

Seven schools are entered in the meet, four of which are from the Mountain East Conference. MEC members Davis & Elkins, Fairmont State and West Virginia Wesleyan will join the Pioneers on the line for the twilight event. The host Marshall squads will also be joined by Morehead State and WVU-Tech. There are 100 entries for the men's race, with 72 on the women's side.

Glenville is led by freshman Natalie Barr from Summersville, West Virginia. The two-time state champion at 800-meters opened her college career in strong fashion two weeks ago, powering to the individual victory at Muskingum's Muskie Opener. She conquered the rolling course in a time of 19:50. Senior B.J. Utt led the men's side, finishing second at Muskingum, posting a 5-K mark of 17:29.
