GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Boxing team was victorious in two bouts at last night's War in the Waco VIII as Daniel Hinger and Payton Packer picked up wins for the Pioneers.
Following the intermission, Glenville State's Daniel Hinger and West Virginia's Leo Cuellar provided the most action packed and exciting fight of the night. Cuellar looked to have the upper hand early, but Hinger fought back mightily to take the win in the final round. "Danny had one of the greatest comebacks ever from having two eight counts in the first round to getting the stoppage in the third round," said head coach Duane Chapman.
Payton Packer was in the main event fight, picking up the win by unanimous decision to close the night out on a high note for GSU Boxing. Coach Chapman continued with "Fantastic atmosphere and unbelievable fights." For the night, there were seven hard fought fights with four total Pioneers competing.
