THE OPPONENTS
DAVIS & ELKINS
The Senators enter (2-8, 1-4 MEC) and have lost their last two games. D&E opened the year (0-6) before notching their first wins of the year against Notre Dame College and Salem.

Dionna Carr is in her second season leading the Senators WBB program. In her first season, Davis & Elkins went (7-20, 7-15 MEC) and appeared in the First Round of the MEC Tournament. Carr came to D&E after a successful two-year stint at Hillsborough Community College in Florida. She was a three-year starter at the University of South Carolina in her playing days.

D&E is led by former Lady Pioneer Taylor Smith, who joined the Senators last season after winning a national championship with GSU during the 2021-22 season. Smith is scoring 10.4 PPG while grabbing 3.5 RPG and dishing out 2.3 APG. Smith is the only double-digit scorer, with the next closest scorer being Kaylee Milburn at 8.1 PPG. As a team, the Senators are only averaging 56.7 PPG.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
The Bobcats come in (2-7, 0-5 MEC), garnering a seven-game losing streak heading into the week. WVWC started the season with victories over Penn State Mont Alto and Shepherd, scoring 90+ points in both games. They will meet with Concord on Wednesday at home before playing the Lady Pioneers on Saturday.

Brett Vincent is in his third season as HC of the Bobcats. WVWC won five games last season, four coming in conference play but the Bobcats would barely miss out on a shot at the MEC Tournament. Before taking over at West Virginia Wesleyan, Vincent spent nine seasons leading the Chowan Men's Basketball program, becoming the Hawks' all-time wins leader.

Returning Second Team All-MEC performer Emma Witt leads the Bobcats in scoring at 13.1 PPG. Witt is also averaging 4.9 RPG. Freshman Sydney Baird is the only other Bobcat in double figures, scoring 10.6 PPG and adding a team leading 3.0 APG. Desiree Roy leads the rebounding efforts, grabbing 5.3 RPG.

THE LADY PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE

The Lady Pioneers enter the new week (8-4, 2-3 MEC) after picking up two non-conference wins over the break, defeating Washington Adventist and Carson-Newman.

Hya Haywood (16.4 PPG) and Lauren Calhoun (16.1 PPG) are atop the scoring leaders for the Lady Pioneers as well as the conference, sitting 4th and 5th in the league. Haywood's 3.2 SPG and Calhoun's 8.5 RBG lead the Lady Pioneers in their respective categories as well. Chalon Miles is nearing double figures as the sophomore is currently sitting at 9.8 PPG.
