BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Basketball standouts Hya Haywood and Lauren Calhoun have received All-MEC recognition, the league announced today. Haywood was a First Team selection while Calhoun took Second Team honors. 

Haywood, a senior from Evansville, Ind., averaged 17.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.4 SPG and 3.0 APG while shooting 42% from the field this season. Haywood had 10 games of 20+ points as well as two 30+ point performances, capped off by a season-high 33 points at Wheeling on Feb. 24. Haywood was an All-MEC Honorable Mention selection in 2023. 

Calhoun, a graduate student from Ravenna, Ohio, finished the 2023-24 campaign averaging 13.7 PPG, 7.4 RPG and 1.1 SPG. Calhoun shot 55% from the field and tallied seven double doubles. While at Wheeling last year, she was an All-MEC First Team honoree.
